Art Vocabulary List


1.Harmony: 
All the elements unites together to form a design.

2. Contrast:
It's the difference between elements applied to design. It's a relationship between light and dark colours.

3. Proportion:
Proportion is when relationships of objects are respectful in sizes, shapes etc..


4. Cross hatch:
Cross hatch is a technique using lines to produce tones and shades.

5. Hierarchy:
Hierarchy is used when size, colour or other elements draws to attention of user's eyes. The focal point composites and draws attention to an information.

1. Line-Calligraphy:
Calligraphy can be thin, thick, smooth, tough, wavy, and bold.


2. Colour-Contrast:
Contrast uses black and white, negative and postive, good and evil, cool and warm colours.


3. Shape and Form- Free Form:
A piece of artwork created not according to a standard style.


4. Texture- Rough:
Texture that has a rough surface. For example; roads, dirt etc..


5. Colour- Warm:
A sense or feel it's friendly, warm, calm, joyful etc..

1. Stability:
All of the elements holds together and becomes stable.

2. Dynamics:
Arrangement of elements that moves up or down.

3. Rhythm:
Arrangement of elements that are repeatable and moves.

4. Scale:
Measurement in size of elements.

Elements


1. Line:
It consists of length and size.

2. Colour:
It consists of different feelings. All sorts of different kind of colours such as  warm, cool, hue etc..


3. Texture:
It consists of elements of point and line that gives a rough look.

4. Shape:
It consists of lines that join up together to create a organic or geometric form.

5. Form:
It consists of two or more shapes join together to form a three-dimensional illustration or object. It uses the elements tone, texture and colour.
