Who are Cleveland Indians?
Cleveland Indians are a professional baseball team located at Cleveland, Ohio. The club founded in 1889 under the name of Cleveland Spiders. They changed their team name about 2 times till they settled with Cleveland Indians in 1915 after the departure of Nap Lajoie. They decided to revive the name Indians of the honor of Louise Sockalexis who was Indian. He played for the team in 1897. In the first season they finished 7th place with a record of 57-97.
Current Logo analysis
Logo History: http://www.logoserver.com/Cleveland_Indians_Logos.html
Current logo concept/theme behind the design:
The Indian character is smiling and wearing it's traditional wear clothing to represent their culture. Smiling means they are proud of their culture. It can also mean a symbol of love, unity, happiness and joy.
Personal thoughts:
My personal thoughts on the current logo. I will look at the situation in both ways and hopefully it will fit in together. Personally I think they should change the Indians because people can abuse the Indians inside and outside the game. Abusive language is very unacceptable behaviour and we must show equality and respect for all people in the world including Indians.
I believe that we are created in the world to communicate with each other and show peace, forgiveness, love, unity, equality, happiness, joy and build ourselves to represent ourselves as good people. Everyone are different but we are all equal. Yes we make mistakes, yes we can be angry but don't be angry and blame others for it. And don't be racist. Racism is one of the biggest and dangerous acts in the world and it must stop.
The reason there are lots of racism in this world because there are not having no forgiveness in heart and no self-control. Some people needs to stop their conflictual ways and reconsider their own mindset of dealing with earthly issues. Earthly wisdom is full of evil deeds such as judging others, putting others down, accusing and bearing false accusations against each other and other evil deeds which is completely unacceptable. But we must unite together again, become good people and begin to have forgiveness in heart and look into the brighter side.
Some people usually don't like Indians and I don't want to pass judgement what I heard but It's wrong. But what I can say is we need to practise good deeds. Don't judge a person without getting to know them.
My final decision is they must change the logo into something else where there is no risk of abusive and evil deeds. We can promote Indians in different ways not in a game. 'Act of Service and Human Rights ' are categories that are suitable in. These groups can promote and practice good deeds. Promoting cultures in games are completing unacceptable and racist. The logo there is no problem with it, I like it but it's not suitable in team name. But it's suitable in 'Human Rights' and 'Act of Good Service' groups.
